AWANA is a youth program at church.. it stands for:

Approved

Cami and Jordyn have been involved in Awana since 

they were both 3 in the Cubbies Program.  

They learn & memorize verses, sing worship songs, play games and have fun with church friends and other friends not from our church.

Sometimes, it's feels like a chore to go to yet another thing in the week.. but then I remember how important is for me to have my own daily devotional time. This is what a great way to set the example & help them establish their own personal time with God! For us to give them the opportunity to give one night a week outside the home to God, not just for church on Sunday & family worship, but for youth group with friends too.

We do it for other things:

 soccer

dance 

tennis

swimming 

taco tuesday

 beach night

cherry on top

 and 

family dinners

and so many other things....

 so of course we need to make this a priority in our week!

 In our family, this is a pre-jr high youth group...once they get to junior high if they would like to continue in addition to jr high youth group they can.
