Good Friends, LOTS of FOOD,
a WARM POOL and a 12 HOUR BLACKOUT!
After everyone left.....
Yes, a 12 hour black out... the power went out on our street yesterday at 3:45... about 45 min before friends were coming over for a warm swim and dinner.
Fortunately, we were bbqing and we had a gas oven for the brownies.
It was light out until about 8:3o, but we gathered up ALL the candles
(which isnt very many when you have NO lights at all.)
The pool was warm & the kids didn't skip a beat, the food was YUMMY and the company was wonderful, the fire pit was warm and we made delicious s'mores and the fireworks were the perfect closing activity for the high school kids and us too
... it was like camping at the Hamen's!
Thanks friends for joining us and dealing with the inconvenience of a crazy transformer problem............oh & by the way we went to bed at 9:30 Jeff gave each girl a solar light from the backyard so they had a nightlight to go to sleep by.
and the power finally came back on at 3 am!

12 hrs! that's crazy but looks like you really made the best of it. so fun.
That is crazy! I can't believe you were out of power for so long. Makes things kind of fun...you'll always remember that one.
