Quiet Times with my girls!

Bedtimes are the same around here... Bath Teeth & Hair brushing... in bed at 8:00 with a story from Mom or Dad. Jeff and Jordyn are enjoyng the Disney Fairies Chapter Books. or I read a couple picture books of her choice.
Camryn reads her own Chapter Books, but because of this I have to make a conscious effort to lay down to read to her. For the past year I have been searching for a mother daughter devotional that isn't too "Mature in content." I was at Sonshine a couple months back and I found this sweet and simple book by Elizabeth George who also writes many books for adult women on marriage and waiting for the "Right One."

This book, "A Little Girl After God's Own Heart" is just right for both girls to enjoy together with me after we read a chapter book too. We only read one section a night, but we first go back and review the  other chapters and say the verses that go along with them. To challenge Cami a little I have her open her Bible to the verse for the day before we start reading. She underlines it and we talk about how it applies with the story they layed out for us. I love that both my girls at ages 5 and 8 can share in a Bible Study together. Oh I have know there are others out there but this is just to girls. It opens up communication and sends them off to dreamland with God's Word in their heads and hearts!
My utmost desire for my girls to show them through example how important it is to read the Bible together as a family and everyday, so it is always in their hearts. Habits to form now.. hopefully easier to keep as they grow older!

Love this! What a sweet time with the girls. And great way to challenge Cami.
You are such a good mommy.
As I was looking at your blog, Cutie walked up and said, "I love Miss Caffee."
They can't wait to come to your house!

We just got a book by Elizabeth George called "God's wisdom for Little Girl's" and it is great for younger girl's like Kaylee's age. I've been enjoying keeping up with you via blog since we don't seem to cross paths very much!
